Trading begins each season at each player's starting index value. From there, buying and selling will move Share Price up or down based on market demand.

Incoming athletes are assigned an initial Player Performance Index through an IPO-like process. This initial value is determined by each player's draft position and amateur accomplishments. Index values will remain stationary until regular season games begin.

Similar to traditional stocks in the stock market, a player’s share price fluctuates based on market demand. As demand for a player increases, so will their share price. Conversely, a mass sell-off will lead to that player's share price going down.

LeagueStock calculates each player's index value using an algorithm comprised of objective, real-world game stats, like points, rebounds, assists and field goal percentage. The Player Performance Index is subject to change after each game as players accrue more stats and information.

Share Price is the amount each share is trading for on the market. Buy low and sell high throughout the season to lock in profit! But don't worry, even if you don't sell your shares on the market, LeagueStock will pay you a fair value for them at the end of each season based on their last index value.

At the conclusion of each season, investors are paid out the full value of their portfolio at each player’s closing index value.

For example, if at the end of the season Donovan Mitchell’s index value is $100.00 and you own five (5) shares, your shares will be automatically liquidated and your account credited with $500.00.
